Reclaim Your Health: Black Wellness Escape with Kayla Freeman and Kareem Jackson

“The state of Black wellness in America is an outrage. The disparities and obstacles we face as Blacks in America in regards to; but not limited to, accessing quality healthcare are unacceptable.

Despite living in one of the wealthiest nations on earth, Black Americans suffer from –avoidable- chronic, environmental diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and heart disease at alarming rates compared to other groups. It’s appalling that they we more likely to DIE prematurely, and have lower life expectancy rates compared to our white counterparts. The healthcare system in America has failed Black Americans, it failed my family, and it’s time for change.”
–Kareem Jackson, Philippines Magazine Medical & Wellness Tourism Ambassador, Exec. Publisher, and Host of Kareem Jackson Live!

It’s unconscionable that blacks (and frankly, many other Americans and Europeans) are forced to bear the burden of cultural and linguistic barriers, and the additional cost of traveling, simply to access adequate medical care, as well as, medications, quality of treatments, tech, recovery, and Physicians.

“Black Americans, we deserve better.” –Kareem Jackson

The healthcare system in America needs to recognize and address the disparities faced by Black Americans to ensure that they receive the quality care they are entitled to as human beings. It’s time for systemic change and action to address these injustices.
